So I just finished and it's 4am. :) It was a good day otherwise. We woke up to a foot of snow and had trouble getting to car out. But it is pretty. • Sleepy Post

I'm at work again, for the second time today. I only slept four unrested hours before I had to leave for work again. Yuck. I can feel my reflexes slowing. And it's not doing wonders for my heart....

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my last post that I have a heart problem. Last February, I was hospitalized with bronchitis-induced asthma. My heart rate was very high, but they thought it was due to the breathing problems. However, my bronchitis went away and my rapid heart rate did not. On my first day back to work, I climbed one set of stairs and had to go to the ER with a heart rate of 180. Just so you know, my target heart rate for exercise is between 131 and 171. The average resting heart rate is between 60 and 80. Mine is about 100. It's called sinus tachycardia. They don't know why I have it or how long I may have had it. But as long as I watch my caffeine intake and stress levels, I'm ok. I also wear an EKG watch to monitor my heart rate. I was taken off of my heart medicine over the summer, but recently put back on it because I was unable to exercise well due to exceeding my target heart rate with a 10 minute moderate walk. My heart problem is also the reason I am no longer a case manager, if anyone caught that. The stress level required of that position was too much on my heart, so I agreed to take a lower position and a lower pay. However, I am much much much happier and much less stressed. And overall, I'd rather be happy than have the extra money.

I just got back from taking my clients to their weekly Alcoholics Anonymous speaker meeting. The woman who spoke today was very engaging and intelligent. I encourage anyone who is a friend or family member of an alcoholic to attend an AA meeting. Or, if you are just interested in the role of alcoholism or the dangers of alcohol, attend one. Very enlightening.

Well, I'd better get back to work. The clients all went to bed, thank goodness. A bug is going around and none of them are feeling well. Hopefully I don't get it! I'm just getting over my sinus infection! I'm glad I got that flu shot! :)

    Much Love,
    Tasha Marie
  • Long Time

Wow, it's been a while! I guess an update is in store, even though no one remembers this still exists! I wonder if anyone read it even when I updated it daily. Anyway, I digress.

It's nearly 4am and I'm working 3rd shift at my job. I work in a group home of 5 mentally ill people who are also drug and/or alcohol abusers. It's very interesting, but I might be moving on. I don't feel I've gotten the respect I've earned lately...

My parents are splitting up. Last February, my Dad decided to leave us, but he hasn't gotten off his butt and moved out yet. So my Mom is planning on leaving soon. We'll see. It's been very hard. I'm passive-agressive, so I've been pretending it's not happening. I don't live at home, so I can almost get away with it. Except that it's not reality. It's been hardest on my sister and little brother, since they live at home still. 30 years of marriage...

My husband and I have been married a year and 4 months and I'm still enjoying it very much! He's an amazing cook and spoils me rotten! We don't have much of a social life, unfortunately. Partly because I work evenings and mostly because we live in Upland. We are too old to hang with the college students but too young for the starter families. Boo...

In September, we used Noah & Joy's wedding as an opporunity to visit a few of my childhood places! The wedding was ironically in my hometown in Minnesota and I got to attend my childhood church! It brought back a TON of memories, but most of my friends no longer live there. Then we drove down to my Iowa hometown and had dinner with my loooong-time friend, Brooks. My little 500-person town looks exactly the same! The playground I used to play on when I was 5 years old is still there! Wow! I was surprised at how well my 5-year-old memory served me! We stopped in Chicago both ways to see my brother and sister-in-law as well as Nathan's sister! That was a blast! Last, we stopped in Urbana to see my favorite friend, Christian! It was WAAAAAAAy too short and I need to convince him to ride the Amtrack out to see me! Anyway, it was a very good trip...

Oh, and for memory's sake, Barak Obama just won the presidential election! It's a wonderful achievement for minorities and I celebrate the meaning of this milestone!

    That's all for now!

    Much love,
    Tasha M. Moyer

About Me

  • I'm Tasha and I'm 24 years old. I am a graduate of Taylor University, majoring in Psychology. I have a family who "happens" to live down the street but does not in any way, shape, or form make me a townie. My first Love is Christ. I like long walks on the beach, romantic music, and... ok ok, I'll stop making you gag. I have a wonderful husband, Nathan, who graduated from Taylor as a senior Comp Sci major and is from Bogota, Colombia. Call me or IM me if you need to be cheered up. It's my favorite hobby. Well... I think that is the most I will divulge about my personality. If you want to know more, contact me!
